Northwest STudents
Grades 6 – 12
Our Student Ministry exists to help students grow as disciples of Jesus Christ and apply God’s Word to their everyday lives. In everything we do, our aim is to point students to Jesus and the gospel. We want students to develop a personal faith that shapes how they think, live, and serve.

Josiah Haglund
Student Director
Josiah Haglund is a third-year student at the University of Florida, where he studies Politics, Philosophy, Economics, and Law. He has been part of Northwest since August 2025.
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria to missionary parents, faith has always been a central part of Josiah’s life. Through serving at summer camps over the past two years, he developed a deep love for Jesus and a passion for discipling middle and high school students.
Josiah is grateful to serve at Northwest, where he enjoys building relationships across generations and being part of a church family that genuinely loves and supports one another. Outside of ministry, he enjoys music, food, and fashion.

Connect Groups
Sunday 9:00am
Students gather for fellowship and in-depth Bible discussion. Each Sunday, we take a deeper look at the message Pastor Brian is preaching that morning and explore practical ways to apply it personally.
Our goal is to help students not only hear God’s Word, but understand it and live it out.

Wednesday Youth
Wednesdays 6:00pm
Each Wednesday evening includes:
- Dinner together — a time to fellowship and build community.
- Games & activities — designed to help students engage and feel comfortable.
- Biblical teaching — a focused lesson rooted in God’s Word.
- Small groups — guided discussion where students can ask questions, grow in understanding, and build deeper friendships.
Our goal is to create a consistent and structured environment where students are known, encouraged, and challenged in their faith.
All Students are welcome to invite friends to join them!
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
Matthew 28:19
